The Plight Of Perfectionism - Setting Your Intention

Gaining Inspiration by First – Letting Go

This course is about gaining inspiration and creative mindfulness so we can be more inspired (ourselves) and be more inspiring (to others).

Yet before we can begin adding inspiration, we need to ‘tip out’ or remove blockages that may be keeping us in a holding pattern that looks like and usually feels like we’re ‘unmotivated’ – I’m sure we’ve all been there. For many of us, perfectionism or procrastination can be places to hide – yet when we are able to show our true selves, we begin to give and receive more freely. By ‘letting go’ we remove the focus from our own ‘self-worth’ and the need to ‘hide’. By doing this, we can begin showing our true character.

Setting an Intention

Why Should You Set an Intention?

For me, setting an intention brings clarity. It’s about creating meaning and purpose in what I do at work, in meetings, with clients and in my personal growth.
Setting intentions can help you get clear on why you’re doing something (clarity), why it’s important to you (meaning) and how it moves you closer to your values (purpose).
Let’s set a simple intention for this week
This is mine:
“I will believe in myself and all that I can be. I will be open and judgement-free. I will trust the process and be honest with myself. While there is no ‘getting behind’ in this course and no ‘rights or wrongs’, I will enjoy the process by exploring ideas.”

Your turn:

In your journal write your intention for this week as it will give you clarity around what you want to achieve - in other words clarity around what's important to you so that you can move forward.
